PRESCHOOL TO KINDERGARTEN
30-45 minutes
Storytelling and Creative Dramatics. Children will interact with the author, which includes an art activity, Q & A.
15 minutes of Skype Presentations are FREE!
1st and 2nd Grades - 1-hour presentation
Storytelling, Creative interactive Dramatic Presentation, Q & A, What if...? Art & Stem activities or tailored to your needs.
Middle School - 1-hour presentation
Rhyme Time - The study of beats, meter, and rhyme in children's poetry. Each student will develop a rhyming poem on assigned topics.
Group Picture Book - Class will become familiar with types of picture books and will develop a group manuscript.
"Then and Now" - Class will choose a topic or year to research and write the first page of a historical fiction manuscript for children.
High School - 2-hour presentation (double period)
The Hero's Journey in Children's Books - Follow the story's protagonist through their journey. Each student will use their favorite book.
Writing Workshops for Children's Writers
"BEYOND THE FAIRYTALE: Something Old! Something Borrowed, Something New!
A writing workshop for PB, MG, or YA (writer's choice) using a traditional fairytale as a mentor text to discover the kernel of a new children's story and develop their writer's voice.
